Williams to discuss photos, techniques

State Museum visitors will have a chance to meet the man behind some famous photographs at Sunday's Artifact ID Day.
Cecil Williams, whose South Carolina civil rights-era photographs were featured in a museum exhibition, will talk with people about how to use cameras and equipment with a special focus on digital technology.
Though the techniques of film and digital cameras may differ, according to Williams, "you still have to have some of the basic principles (such as) composition, focusing, exposure, color, things like that."
He said if the audience has questions or problems with using digital cameras, he hopes to address specific issues in his presentation.
Williams may even discuss what he called the "original airbrush," a noisy compressor once used for retouching that didn't allow ...
